On Tuesday after my script writing class, I got asked by my classmate Ray Blakely if I could be a contributor on her live TV studio module. I initially was hesitant but I went along for it as it was on the same day and I know what it’s like to have people pull out of your project last minute.
I not only was excited to see the studios for the first time in a long time, since I was taking the same TV studio module next semester, but I was also glad I could get a sneak peek into my assignments and get a head start into what role and type of show I would want to make
Whilst I was getting my microphone fitted I was talking to one of the camera operators called Tom Clarke and asked him questions about the module, assessments, how it’s going, etc. I also found out that he is also doing Contemporary American TV Drama next semester so I now know at least one new person for next years class already.
Although I was there for the practice run I said I was available for the full thing if they needed me, which ended up being the case. So I went back again the next Tuesday for the realm thing which went very smoothly with all the changes they had made from the practice runs. It was impressive at how much the crew had changed the show so much in only seven days and right before their assignment.
Overall it was a fun experience that has made me excited and looking forward to the module next year.
